Dr Garmany has practice neurology in Boulder for over thirty years.  During that time he has served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine and President of the Medical Staff of the United Medical Staff of Boulder.  He has worked on numerous projects to improve neurological care in Boulder, including helping to form the acute stroke response team.
 
Dr Garmany has a special interest in multiple sclerosis, and a large number of his patients are seen for this disorder.  He has served on the Board of Trustees for the Colorado Chapter of the National MS Society since 1981, and he has been a consultant to the Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis for many years.  He has taught neurology residents and medical student for much of the time and holds the rank of Clinical Professor of Neurology at the University of Colorado.. In the community, he is active as a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Boulder Rotary Club.
